SPIO-NH<sub>2</sub>/SH nanoparticles are SPIOs that are surface-functionalised with elements from the amine (NH<sub>2</sub>) and thiol (SH) functional groups. They can be used in medical imaging (e.g. in MRI as a bimodal contrast agent) and for therapeutic purposes (e.g. biomolecule detection, drug delivery, targeted therapy).
